GSTIN validator
Check a GSTIN's shape, state code, embedded PAN and checksum instantly, one at a time or a whole list at once. Nothing you type here leaves your browser.
Checked as you type
A GSTIN is 15 characters: a 2-digit state code, the 10-character PAN of the registered entity, a 1-digit entity number, the literal letter “Z”, and a checksum character computed from the first 14 using a Luhn mod-36 scheme (CGST Rules, 2017, Rule 10).
Bulk mode runs the same check on every entry independently, and separately flags duplicates and the same PAN appearing under more than one state.
Frequently asked questions
What does this check, exactly?
The 15-character shape, the state code, the embedded PAN’s format, and the checksum character. It confirms the GSTIN is well-formed, not that it is active or currently filing returns.
A GSTIN passes here but the portal says it is invalid. Why?
A valid format does not mean the registration is active. The GST portal, or AawazAI’s own live lookup for signed-in users, checks the registration’s actual status.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Every check runs in your browser. Nothing you type or paste here is sent to a server.
How many GSTINs can I check at once?
Up to 1,000 in one go, pasted one per line or comma-separated, or uploaded as the first column of a CSV.
